About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Currents in Theology and Mission offers theological essays and book reviews on a wide spectrum of theological literature, as well as exegetical and homiletical resources for every Sunday and major festival in the church year (the latter section is called “Preaching Helpsâ€). Currents aims to provide resources for mission, ministry, and theological growth for pastors and other church leaders. Those who would like to contribute to Currents should refer to the appropriate Section Policies.
Peer Review Process
Essays
Currents aims to publish a variety of essays across the broad spectrum of theological studies, and essays are often solicited from knowledgeable experts on a particular topic. Prospective essayists are directed to the Essay Guidelines. Essays are reviewed and approved for publication by the editorial team and a consultative group of peer reviewers.
Preaching Helps
Those who would like to do exegetical studies or write pastoral reflections for "Preaching Helps" should review the Preaching Helps Guidelines or email the editor of this section: Barbara K. Lundblad.
Book Reviews
Book reviews are solicited and edited by Craig L. Nessan (history, theology, ethics, and ministry); and Troy M. Troftgruben (New Testament). Readers who would like to volunteer to do book reviews should review the Book Review Guidelines and contact the appropriate editor.
Publication Frequency
Currents in Theology and Mission, a free online journal, is published quarterly (January, April, July, and October) and posted on approximately the first day of the month of publication. Each issue is thematic, and edited by an editor who is a specialist in the thematic content. Please contact the journal editor for information about upcoming issue themes.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
