Abstract

Knowing that we are freed from all that holds us captive and freed for service of the neighbor is as close and as vital to Lutherans as our breath; the path to putting this theology into practice is not as obvious. When we have the eyes to see the service by the baptized as the center of the church’s mission, we will be freed from convincing people to do or give more, and we will be free for the work of encouraging and equipping us all to be God’s hands at work in the everyday activities of our lives.
