How Could We Forget the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed?
Rekindling Our Collective Memory in Systematic Theology
Abstract
In his teaching, ministry, and personal example, Dr. Winston Persaud taught students and colleagues to prioritize relationships, recalling that genuine connection is rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Reflecting on Dr. Persaud’s consistent use of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed and the 1,700th anniversary of its original composition this essay discusses how returning to the Creed offers a better understanding of ourselves as individuals, our communities, and our Christian foundations. In such a dynamic, people find that not only are they shaped by the tradition but also contribute to its ongoing transformation for the sake of faithful witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ in today’s world.
