The Implications of AI for Theological and Ministerial Training

Abstract

Today, the followers of Jesus Christ, along with many other humans around the world find ourselves holding the world in our hands, through the marvels of computing technology and Artificial Intelligence applications (AI). In such a context, church leaders need to prepare for the use of AI in order to support Christian ministry and mission in the present and in the technological futures to come. Given the impacts of these new technologies, leaders in theological education should feel ready and empowered to influence a future in which AI devices function more as possible guardian angels rather than harmful forces.
