Introduction

Abstract

Introduces the essays in the issue, which highlight efforts of some ELCA seminaries to assist their students in dealing with their level of indebtedness. This assistance was enabled through the Lilly Endowment's funding the Theological School Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Future Ministers in 2013. The initiative helped theological schools "to examine and strengthen their financial and educational practices to improve the economic well-being of future ministerial leaders."
